Pay Matrix Level 1

Pay Matrix Level 1: Level 1 is the first level in all levels of pension of the 7th Pay Commission, which includes entry-level employees, such as sweepers, and peons, such employees are included in the pay matrix level 1.

The minimum pay for Level 1 is Rs 18,000 and the maximum pay is Rs 56,900. The typical pay for employees at Level 1 is based permanently on their position, seniority, and performance.

Salary Calculation in Pay Matrix Level 1

The salary calculation formula in the 7th Pay Commission’s pay matrix is as follows –

Basic Pay = Minimum Pay of the Level + (Multiplication Factor × Years of Service in that Level)

• Minimum Pay of the Level = The minimum pay of the relevant level in the pay matrix.
• Multiplication Factor = A number determined by the 7th Pay Commission that increases based on the level in the pay matrix.
• Years of Service in that Level = The number of years the employee has served in that particular level.
